BRADFORD Town made it four wins from six as their promising start to the new Toolstation League Premier Division season continued with a 1-0 win over Brislington at Trowbridge Road.

Rob Mallett’s men went close to opening the scoring shortly before the midway point of the first half when Jake Hiscocks saw his effort saved by Brislington keeper Chris Humphries.

But the visitors also went close a few minutes later as Ricky Chandler blazed over the top.

The home side enjoyed the better of it in the lead-up to half-time and captain Martin Lenihan fired just over the top.

But Bradford finally broke through five minutes before the interval as Lenihan lifted a cross to the back post and Leon Greenland headed it back across for Jack Witcombe to finish from close range.

Will Hailston and Dan Cottle, both recently returned from Frome Town, both missed chances on the break in the second period but Bradford also had to withstand serious Brislington pressure, the visitors' Oaklan Buck firing wide late on as they unsuccessfully chased an equaliser.
