AN INCREDIBLE 43 goals were scored across the five games played in Division One of the Trowbridge & District League, with all five visiting teams coming out on top.

Heytesbury are now three points clear at the head of the table following their 13-0 win at Trowbridge Town Reserves.

Craig Sheppard scored four, Dan Dicks got three, there were braces for Liam Gibbens and Brendan Hind and efforts from Charlie Waylen and Jacob Charlwood completed the rout.

Hilperton United moved up to second after winning 3-2 at Semington Magpies.

The home side went 1-0 down before coming back to lead at half-time through Ben Jenkins and Oli Winchcombe. However, Hilperton fought back and scored twice in the second half to take the points, with their goals coming from Thomas Blackman, Graham Griffiths and Luke Murden.

Three Daggers hosted current champions Freshford United, where the visitors ran out 7-2 winners.

United had six different goalscorers – Sean Horobin (2), Edward Katumba, Alfie Little, Mike Little, Dave Percival and Tom Rooney – with Phil Hampson and Joe Moloney on target for Daggers.

Calne Eagles moved off the bottom following a 3-2 win at Warminster Town Reserves.

Josh Madle, Jake Mizen and Michael Taraskvics ensured the Eagles picked up their first win of the season as Steve Seals scored twice for the home side.

Holt FC took all three points from their visit to Melksham Town A in a 7-4 success.

Otis Young and Adam Mercer both got braces for Holt and Jon Woods, Joe Walker and Finn Young also struck, as Antony Lamb (2), Daniel Broom and Sam Townsend replied for Melksham.

DIVISION TWO

WARMINSTER United continued their unbeaten start in Division Two with a 3-0 win over visitors Zeals.

James Vincent bagged a brace and Liam Flowers was also on target for United, who ended the game with 10 men.

Ewan Anderson’s hat-trick ensured Marshfield maintained second place with a 4-3 win over Lambrok Rangers.

Matt Glover also struck for Marshfield as Owen Churchyard, Brandon Mould and Matt Dew replied for Rangers, with the latter also being sent off.

Due to reseeding work on their own pitch, Trowbridge Wanderers switched their game and visited Greyhound where they found their hosts anything but hospitable as they won 6-0.

Simon Parfitt led the way with a hat-trick, Darren Brewer bagged a brace and Jack Brewer was also on target for Greyhound.

The Stiffs earned a 1-1 draw at Calne Town Reserves as Tom Quadling’s effort cancelled out a Brett Fairclough goal for the home side.

Bath-based Aces earned a 2-1 win at home to Spencers, who remain the only side across the two divisions without a point so far this season.

Jake Paxton and Andy Rhead were on target for Aces and Khanh Tizan scored Spencer’s consolation.
