WAYNE Thorne’s unbeaten run since taking charge of Bradford Town last month continued at the weekend as table-topping Willand Rovers could only rescue a point in a 1-1 draw.

Will Hailstone put Thorne’s men ahead with 30 minutes played before Willand salvaged a draw when substitute David Steele found the back of the net with less than 15 minutes remaining.

The result ensured Bradford remain sixth in the division after fifth-placed Bitton slipped to a 2-1 defeat at new leaders Westbury United.

The Bobcats pressed straight from kick-off during Saturday’s tie as winger Matt Morris tested Willand’s goalkeeper in the opening minutes, forcing a save.

Morris then struck the post before Hailstone’s strike handed Bradford a deserve first-half lead.

Bradford’s attacking pair of Morris and Hailstone continued to pepper the hosts’ net, but to no reward.

Willand then counted themselves lucky to draw level when Steele’s shot took a wicked deflection, leaving Forster rooted and helpless.

Thorne’s men had the chance to edge back into the lead with minutes remaining when Morris’ low cross found substitute Martin Johnson in front of an open net.

Johnson failed to reach Morris’ delivery though, forcing the Bobcats - who this weekend face Brockenhurst in the FA Vase - to settle for a point.
