SWINDON Robins skipper Nick Morris has turned down the opportunity to re-sign for his Polish club Rzeszow, after reportedly being owed £28,000 by Liga Two table toppers.

Morris, who has based himself in Swindon for six years after making the switch from Coventry in 2011, opted to turn down an offer from Rzeszow on the final day of the transfer window - with Polish website przegladsportowy reporting that the Aussie is owed PLN 140,000 (£28,800).

The reported debts follow former King’s Lynn Stars racer Nicklas Porsing publicly slamming the Polish giants for the same issue.

Polish star Grzegroz Walasek has since resigned from Rzeszow too, who last year boasted four-times World Champion Greg Hancock in their ranks.

Meanwhile the British Speedway Promoters’ Association confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that a 42.5 points limit has been set for the seven clubs set to contest next year’s SGB Premiership.

A rolling average of 6.74 makes Morris a potentially inviting rider for Rossiter next season.
