WARMINSTER Town pushed Toolstation League Division One leaders Cheddar close on Tuesday night before succumbing to a narrow 1-0 defeat.

Adam Jones got the only goal of the game for the Cheesemen as Andy Crabtree’s Warminster were forced to travel home from Somerset empty-handed.

Warminster were the only local side in action this week, following the mass wipeout of fixtures on Saturday following the heavy snowfall.

Town are on the the road again this weekend and travel to Longwell Green Sports.

The best placed of Wiltshire’s Division One sides, Calne Town, are at home to Wells City, while Corsham Town and Devizes Town entertain Bishops Lydeard and Keynsham Town respectively.

Chippenham Park have no fixture this weekend.

Premier Division outfit Westbury United also have a Saturday off before they face Southern League side Swindon Supermarine in the semi-finals of the Wiltshire Senior Cup on Wednesday.

Bradford Town are in league action this weekend and are at home to Plymouth Parkway.

Fixtures in the Hellenic League were also hampered by the wintry weather last weekend, with no local side in action.

However, Malmesbury Victoria enjoyed a winning return on Tuesday night when they made progress in the Subsidiary Cup.

Jamie Packer got the only goal of the game as Vics claimed a battling 1-0 victory away at Thornbury Town.

Division One West side Malmesbury resume their league programme on Saturday when they host Cirencester Town Development at the Flying Monk Ground.

Pewsey Vale are also at home as they entertain struggling Tytherington Rocks.

In the Premier Division, Royal Wootton Bassett Town play for the first time since January 19 when they travel to Abingdon United.
