IT WAS a tough weekend all round for Wiltshire sides in Southern Counties South as all three local teams suffered defeats.

Bottom side Bradford on Avon, who are without a league win all season, handed North Dorset a home walkover in their scheduled contest, meaning their overall points tally drops to just one.

Corsham travelled to fellow mid-table outfit Grove, but found the afternoon hard going as they succumbed to a heavy 66-12 loss.

Finally, Devizes had a tough task away at second-in-the-table Frome and made the trip home with a 28-3 defeat.

A Chris Barter penalty on the hour mark was the Saddlebacks’ only contribution to the scoreboard.

Devizes are currently sixth in the table, although Corsham are only one place below their country rivals and boast the same number of points this season.

Barring a handful of fixtures, the majority of local rugby teams will have a break from action this weekend due to the return of the Six Nations, with full league schedules set to resume on Saturday, March 2.
