WARMINSTER United will meet Holt in the final of the A&B Cup, sponsored by AM Print & Copy, in the Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories-sponsored Trowbridge & District League after edging out neighbours Warminster Town Reserves 2-1 in a tight semi-final.

With the teams level at 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, the game entered into extra time when a single strike earned victory for United.

United’s goals were scored by Matt Dyer and Tom Martin, with Nicholas Taylor replying for Town.

The final will be played at Westbury United’s Meadow Lane ground on Tuesday, April 16 (7.30pm).

Knockout Cup

FRESHFORD United are the first team to reach the final of the Knockout Cup, sponsored by Chantry Digital, after a comprehensive 6-1 win over Marshfield.

United led 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from David Percival, Nick Ross and Alfie Little before Marshfield pulled one back through Tom Richards from the penalty spot.

However, any thoughts of a comeback were soon ended by a second goal apiece from Ross and Alfie Little and one from Waleed Bakali.

Spring Cup

AFTER winning the first leg of their Spring Cup, sponsored by Gooding Accounts, first round tie against Zeals 5-1, Aces earned safe progress despite a 3-2 defeat in the second leg.

Aces led 2-1 at half-time thanks to efforts by Vijay Manro and Rob Mallia and although goals from Ben Hogg (2) and Bradley Carter turned things around for Zeals on the day, it was not enough to change the course of the tie overall.

Division One

HOLT increased their lead at the top by beating second-placed Heytesbury 3-0.

After a competitive first half, Holt took the lead just before the break through Matty Jones. Otis Young added a second soon after the break before Jonno Hogarth sealed the win.

Division Two

SPENCERS picked up their third win of the season and lifted themselves above opponents The Stiffs in the table as two goals from Kyle Palmer earned a 2-0 success.
