AFTER narrowly missing out on promotion last season, Corsham Ladies 2nd clinched the Wessex Division 2 title in the West Clubs Women’s Hockey League this term.
The team won 18 of their 22 league games to be crowned champions by two points, scoring an impressive 100 goals in the process.
Vice-captain Stef Walker said: “We had full commitment and determination from all our players, and it was great having some talented junior girls moving up into our senior ladies team this year.
“We worked hard at training with our coach, Jackie Stanley, who put in a lot of time with us, working on our formations and tactics, and her encouragement made us determined to succeed.
“It was a proud moment for captain Carol Johnson, who led us to victory, and it will be an exciting 2019-20 season where we step up to the next level.”
