HOLT have been crowned Division One champions in the Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories-sponsored Trowbridge & District League following a classy 4-1 win over Freshford United.

A hat-trick from Scott Baker and one from Otis Young cued Holt’s celebrations against Freshford, who lifted the title 12 months ago. United’s sole reply came via an own goal.

Elsewhere, Three Daggers ran out 5-3 winners on their visit to Warminster Town Reserves.

Two strikes from Ashley Easton and one each from Phillip Hampson, Jack Hayward and Mathew Mead made sure Daggers collected all three points. Warminster’s goals were scored by William Guerri-Brown, James Dyer and Nyke Fletcher.

Division Two

WARMINSTER United took a huge step towards the title with a comprehensive 5-1 triumph against third-placed Calne Town Reserves.

A James Vincent hat-trick and a goal each from Ashley Caws and Kyle Fice saw Warminster open up a five-point lead at the top. The Calne reply was scored by Neurin Jones.

The Stiffs rounded off their league programme with a welcome 3-2 victory over Greyhound.

Goals from James Porter, Tom Quadling and Rudi Bowen made sure Stiffs finished the season on a high, while both of Greyhound’s goals were scored by Jack Brewer.

Spring Cup

AFTER last weekend’s epic Knockout Cup semi-final, Heytesbury and Hilperton United met again in the last eight of the Spring Cup, sponsored by Gooding Accounts.

Heytesbury again finished on top, winning another entertaining match 4-2.

Brendan Hind struck twice and there was one each for Mike Payne and Myles Woodward, while a Chris Foley and an own goal saw Hilperton on the scoresheet.
