WILTSHIRE rider Tommy Bridewell claimed his first top-10 finish in the Superbike World Championships at the weekend, writes TIM CRISP.
Bridewell, who is fighting for the British Superbike Championship title this season, has made a guest appearance in the last two rounds of the global competition.
Standing in for the injured Eugene Laverty for Team GoEleven Ducati, the Etchilhampton racer finished 14th, 12th then 10th in the latest round at Jerez in Spain.
Bridewell had earlier made his World Superbikes debut at the previous round at Imola in Italy, filling in after Laverty sustained damage to his wrist.
The 30-year-old’s efforts over the past two rounds have garnered him 12 points and he sits 17th in the standings.
This weekend, Bridewell resumes his British Superbikes campaign in round four at Brands Hatch.
Bridewell has recorded four podium finishes in seven races this season and sits second in the championship on 109 points, six behind leader Scott Redding.
