WILTSHIRE cricketers Liam Dawson and James Vince got their hands on World Cup winners medals following England’s thrilling victory over New Zealand in today's final.
Swindon-born Dawson and Steeple Ashton’s Vince were both members of England’s 15-man squad for the tournament on home turf.
England claimed a maiden World Cup triumph at Lord’s in sensational circumstances, earning victory in a super over after the two sides finished level after 50 overs each.
Both sides then scored 15 off their additional six deliveries but England were crowned champions by virtue of having scored more boundary fours and sixes - 24 to New Zealand's 16 - in the match.
