TROWBRIDGE RFC has been chosen as a finalist in the National Rugby Awards – rugby’s flagship awards ceremony in England, with a star-studded ceremony due to be held at Twickenham on August 29.

Shortlisted in the ‘Facility Development of the Year’ category, the nomination is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the facilities team and all of the volunteers at Trowbridge, who work tirelessly to ensure the facilities at Doric Park remain the best in the area.

The club’s selection serves as a wonderful tribute to the late Ian Lawes – the club’s volunteer caretaker who sadly died last year and had been responsible for winning the club countless awards for Trowbridge and Wiltshire in Bloom.

Two young club members of have also been named as finalists in the new minis and junior section of the awards.

Minis player Maci Beety is up for the ‘Team Mate Award’ category, and U14 second row Harrison Sheppard is nominated in the ‘Club Member Award’ category.

Meanwhile, Melksham RFC youngster Will Skinner, aged 10, has also been nominated in the ‘Team Mate’ category.
