RECENTLY-CROWNED NG Road Racing Newcomer 1300cc champion Chris Oliver was back in action in the latest round of their championships at Anglesey.

The Trowbridge racer led the 1300cc Streetstock Championship prior to this meeting and was fastest in qualifying on his The Garage-backed Yamaha R1 to start the first race from pole position.

Oliver led for nine of the 10 laps before being passed on the last lap to finish second.

During his second race, Oliver was involved in an epic battle and again led in the early stages before settling for second once more at the chequered flag.

Oliver then completed a hat-trick of runner-up finishes in the third and final race.

Meanwhile, Devizes’ Daniel Squire notched three fifth-place finishes.

Runner-up in last season’s NG Cup 250cc Championship, Broughton Gifford’s Travis Vince was in top form and finished in third in his first race on his TZ 250cc Yamaha.

He went one better in both his second and third races to win each time and also set the fastest lap in both.

Westbury’s Jay Able notched up three second places in the Formula 400 Championship on his and currently sits second in the standings on his Phoenix Motorcycles-backed R3 Yamaha.
