A MIXTURE of senior and junior barebow, compound, longbow and recurve archers from across the region attended the Dorset & Wiltshire Archery Association’s Championship Weekend over the August Bank Holiday.
There were archers in action from a host of clubs across the two counties, including from Supermarine Bowmen and South Wilts AC.
The event was hosted by The Bowmen of Lytchett, Wareham, with Vicky Burden acting as the county tournament organiser.
Mr RK De B Nicholson was chairman of judges, while the guest of honour was former county association president Jill Newland, accompanied by her husband Tony.
Pending ratification, at least one high scoring national record was potentially broken along with some county records.
County association chairman Mark Pledger said “The County Championship Weekend is our flagship outdoor event, rounding off the county summer season.
“It’s great to see so many archers from our local clubs attending.”
The event was kindly sponsored by The Archery Shop in Dorset.
