LEADERS Kintbury Rangers dropped their first points of the season at the weekend courtesy of a 1-1 draw with Cricklade Town.

Josh Davis scored inside the first minute for Rangers, but Jason Tatum equalised for Town before the break.

A goalless second half was not without action though as Cricklade had a man sent off late on.

Purton moved level on points with Kintbury following their 3-0 victory over Holt at the Red House.

Darren Regis scored his fifth of the season to kick off the goalscoring while Will Backhouse and Jack Duckers also got on the scoresheet as Purton moved second on goal difference.

Stratton Juniors are still looking for their first win of the season after being comprehensively beaten 8-2 by Corsham Town Reserves.

Jamal Chevolleau – who played regularly for the first team last season – bagged a hat-trick for Corsham, Dan Lardner scored twice while Nathan Phillimore, Ryan Withers and Darrin Moss all got their names on the scoresheet.

Scot Garrett scored Stratton’s first before Danny Hale scored an excellent free-kick for Juniors’ second of the game.

Shrewton United and Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development played out a tight affair at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground with the visitors escaping with a 1-0 win.

Matty Bennett was denied by Shrewton stopper Reece Knowles early on before Shrewton had a handball appeal waved away prior to half-time.

The winning goal came just after the break when Shrewton captain Steven Holvey created space for himself inside the box and powerfully headed a free-kick home.

Bennett hit the post for Bassett just after the hour mark, but that would be as close as the home side would come to netting an equaliser.

Wroughton continued their perfect record in the league thanks to a crushing 6-0 win away at Ludgershall Sports.

Kyle Parker, Ollie While, Callum Wilkinson and Shane Hibbert all netted while Tyler Wilkinson bagged a brace.

Melksham Town Reserves recorded their biggest win of the season, running out 7-1 winners against Malmesbury Victoria Development.

Oliver Sterling scored twice while Andy Sandell, Owen Pearce, Harvey Flippance, Seth Wain and Sam Hedges netted for the home side. George Stone scored Malmesbury’s reply.

Marlborough Town and Frome Collegians played out a 0-0 draw while the game between Trowbridge Town and Pewsey Vale Development was postponed.
