How Albion's players rated against Burnley....

MATY RYAN 6

Very little to do until seeing Jeff Hendrick’s well struck shot flash through Dan Burn’s legs and into the bottom corner.

SHANE DUFFY 6

Back into the side as the right-sided centre-back before slotting back alongside Dunk in a two. Looked better in the second role.

The Argus:

LEWIS DUNK 7

A decent performance at the heart of a defence who were not overly troubled and pulled off a potentially goal-saving challenge on Wood (pictured above).

ADAM WEBSTER 7

A rating based only on the last 70 minutes would have been higher than this. Did not look at ease as left-sided centre-back but was good with and without the ball at right-back.

SOLLY MARCH 7

Started as right wing-back but was more of threat when further forward. Was the first to offer attacking signs of life for Albion and played a big part in the goal.

DALE STEPHENS 7

Loves a tackle and was a steady presence in midfield until Burnley’s subs found the creativity to cut through late on.

DAVY PROPPER 7

Some suggestion he should have tracked Hendrick better on the equaliser but the main reason he did not score higher from an impressive afternoon was lack of scoring touch.

DAN BURN 6

Can attack when it is a bonus but doing so on as regular basis when it is an expectation looked a taller order on his switch to wing-back. Was better after things were changed.

PASCAL GROSS 7

The more you think about his display or watch it back, the better it seems. Was a key part of the tactical change which brought such improvement as he helped Albion get a grip in midfield and start playing their passes.

NEAL MAUPAY 7

Stayed onside and tested Pope at his near post before showing great technique to keep a volley down and find the bottom corner. Is lively with more to come.

GLENN MURRAY 6

Looked set to open his account for the Prem season but failed to get good contact on a header after making a great run. Good work to set up a Propper chance but not at his best.

SUBS

Aaron Mooy: Not much seen of him after going on for the final push.

Aaron Connolly: First touch took him slightly wide when he had the chance for glory.

Gaetan Bong: On very late for the formation change which did not work.
