ONLY one Division One match survived the wet weekend as the latest round of fixtures in the Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories-sponsored Trowbridge & District League was heavily curtailed.

Devizes Town Reserves shone despite the downpours as they ran out emphatic 9-1 winners when they visited Semington Magpies.

Two goals each from Ben Tylee, Wayne House and Declan Blandford, plus a strike each from Angus Webster, Ben Perrett and Brad Whitbread sealed Devizes’ win and moved them into third place in the table.

Semington’s goal was an own goal after good work down the left from Alex Maclahlan.

Marshfield continue to set the pace at the summit, boasting a perfect record of seven league wins from seven games this term.

Division Two

TEAMS fared slightly better in the conditions in the second tier as a total of three games were staged in total.

KEW PR were more than happy to play in the rain as they thumped Barford Hornets 8-1 at home.

Mike Little opened the scoring before Nick Ross and Dave Percival added one each before the break. Percival scored his second after 50 minutes and Ashley Poms made it 5-0 just after the hour mark.

Mark Maguire then added two goals of his own before the prolific Percival completed his hat-trick with five minutes remaining to extend his team’s perfect league record to five wins from five games.

Barford Hornets’ lone scorer was Toby Allen.

Seend United earned their second league win of the season by beating Aces 3 -1.

Ollie Elmes, Charlie Jones and Josh Thornton were on the scoresheet for Seend and Kegan Smart replied for Aces.

Trowbridge Town Reserves moved up to seventh in table following their first league win of the season as they ran out 5-1 victors away against The Stiffs.

Jamie Strevens led the way by grabbing a hat-trick, with Adam Potter adding one of his own. Trowbridge’s fifth was an own goal and Nathaniel Edwards got a consolation for The Stiffs.

The game between unbeaten league leaders Staverton United and second-placed Calne Eagles was abandoned after 14 minutes due to a serious injury to a Calne player.
