ANDY Smith was crowned the winner of the Lydiard Plate Association Croquet competition, held at Swindon Croquet Club.
Held over two successive Sundays, the last competitive event of the 2019 season saw some keenly-contested games – chief of which ended in Smith running out as the winner following four wins from five matches.
As a result of Smith’s exceptionally proficient play in his victory, his handicap has now been reduced from 11 to 3.5.
Tony Mayer and John Small finished as joint-runners up thanks to three wins apiece.
