BRADFORD Town put in a five-star performance against Cadbury Heath on Saturday to remain top of the Western League Premier Division.
Goals from Ross Lye, Lewis Powell, Charlie Maddison and a brace from Tyson Pollard saw Wayne Thorne’s men romp to a 5-0 victory on home soil against one of the division’s struggling sides.
Pollard bagged his first of the afternoon inside 10 minutes courtesy of a brilliant curling shot from a tight angle.
Moments later, Ross Lye had the opportunity to make it two from the penalty spot, and he made no mistake whipping a right-footed strike into the top left-hand corner.
Higdon hit the post midway through the first half before turning provider for Powell to nonchalantly head into an unguarded net.
And Bradford would make it 4-0 prior to half-time courtesy of another header – Jack Witcombe crossed onto the head of Maddison to divert home.
With the majority of the scoring complete, Pollard once again netted from a tight angle midway through the second half to add the icing to a sweet performance from the league leaders.
Bradford are due back in action on Wednesday night when they take on Plymouth Parkway at Trowbridge Road.
Elsewhere, Westbury United were beaten 1-0 by Tavistock.
Despite enjoying some early pressure on the visitors’ goal, Westbury fell victim to a swift Tavistock counter-attack.
Attacking down the right, the visitors swung a cross in that was well headed home by Joshua Grant for the only goal of the game.
