TYLER Smith and Diallang Jaiyesimi have recovered in time to face Oxford United tomorrow, revealed Swindon Town manager John Sheridan.

The attacking pair had been missing for over a month after both picked up small injuries prior to Jaiyesimi contracting coronavirus earlier this month.

That set both back as Smith had spent time around Jaiyesimi in the County Ground treatment room – Jordan Lyden, who will not be ready for the weekend’s derby, was another to have his recovery date pushed back due to being forced to self-isolate.

But prior to Saturday’s hotly-anticipated derby against Oxford, Town boss Sheridan revealed he had two bits of good news to share alongside the return of Jonathan Grounds from suspension.

He said: “Jonny Smith is with the physio still but I don’t think his injury is as serious as we first thought, so hopefully he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

“Brett is obviously out for another four or five weeks, and then there’s a couple who pick up these little ankle injuries, but there are people coming back and players who have trained this week.

“Jonathan Grounds is back tomorrow after suspension, Tyler Smith is back tomorrow and Diallang Jaiyesimi is back tomorrow.

“It’s good because it makes my job more difficult when you’ve good players coming back that make us stronger."
