OLDHAM Athletic manager John Sheridan claimed he was "not bothered" about the reception he was given by Swindon Town fans during the Robins' 1-0 victory over the Latics on Saturday.

Swindon's former manager was routinely booed by the 11,000 home supporters inside the County Ground, while regular chants were aimed in the 57-year-old's direction.

When walking out at the start of the game and facing a cluster of booing Town fans, Sheridan made a point of applauding the away supporters to his left. He later did so again during further chants.

Following Dion Conroy's 95th-minute header to snatch the points, Sheridan allegedly stormed off down the tunnel at the County Ground while aiming an obscene hand gesture towards those in the John Trollope Arkells Stand.

Asked afterwards how he felt about the frosty reception he received, Sheridan said: "I'm not worried about Swindon.

"You know I've played at Leeds United for eight years, I played at Sheffield Wednesday. I am not bothered about 6,000 fans shouting at me. I have got a lot more about me.

"They even booed Hallam Hope off who won the title for them and that is typical so I don't worry about them."
