POTTERNE Cricket Club saw their West of England Premier League Premier One title ambitions dented following a 72-run defeat to Bridgewater CC last weekend.

Entering the sixth game of the season having tasted defeat just once, a stunning 163 off 139 balls from George Bartlett meant Potterne were upa against it in chasing down 326 from their 50 overs.

Chris Aubrey (65) and Basil Akram (54) made a half-century but Potterne were never likely to reach their target and ended up being bowled out for 254 in the 43rd over.

Elsewhere in WEPL, Chippenham claimed victory by four wickets over Lansdown CC. Lansdown's Oskar Kolk (52) and Mat Trotman(50) reached a landmark score as they set Chippenham 184 to win.

With Azeem Ghumman (50no) and Luke Charlesworth (53) going along nicely, only a slight wobble threatened to derail a comfortable win in the end.

In WEPL Premier Two, Burbage & Easton Royal CC defended their total of 214 all out against Marshfield in one of two Wiltshire derbies.

An 80 from Burbage's Ollie Cross proved to be the difference as Marshfield fell 35 runs short, despite Hugh Jackson's 57.

In the other Wiltshire clash at the weekend, Goatacre cruised past Corsham by 82 runs after half-centuries from Jack Haines (50), Adam Tucker (69), and Conor Taylor (50).

Warminster's wait for a first victory of the season continues following a 59-run defeat away to Hatherly & Reddings CC.

Hatherly's Lesego Senokwane cracked 160 off 134 before TA Hage added to that with a 116 from 108 as the hosts set Warminster 351 to win.

Mark Coxon-Tenty (62) and Gareth Schreuder (54) passed 50 but Warminster fell well short in the end.

In WEPL Wiltshire, there were wins for Westbury, Hinton Charterhouse, Trowbridge, and Royal Wootton Bassett.
