WESTBURY United drew 0-0 to Willand Rovers in Southern League Division One South on Saturday.

The opening league game of the season saw Westbury play in the club’s highest ever tier, following promotion from Hellenic League Premier Division last term.

Ricky Hulbert’s men faced a familiar foe in Willand but could not find a goal on their travels and were forced to settle for a point from their first league match.

Elsewhere, Melksham Town began their league campaign with a 3-1 defeat at home to Exmouth Town.

Luke Ballinger netted for Melksham, but a brace from Levi Landricombe and a solitary goal courtesy of Jordan Harris secured the result for Exmouth.

In the Hellenic League, Bradford Town saw their two-game winning start to the campaign end thanks to a 3-1 loss away at Cribbs on Saturday.

Will Stead had put the Bobcats in front, but David Duru’s first-half goal - combined with Steve Murray’s brace - saw Cribbs come from behind to take all three points.

Corsham Town have also begun brightly in the new season but only managed a draw with Shrivenham at the weekend.

Kieran Baggs’ side remain undefeated on five points from three games after Matthew Morris’ first-half strike secured a draw, cancelling out Sean McKeon’s effort.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town capped off a positive week for the club with a 1-1 draw away at Chipping Sodbury Town on Saturday.

Following their FA Cup replay victory over Windsor, Bassett saw Macauley Dodson sent off for two yellow cards, but only after Jack Hobson-McVeigh had equalised via a deflected free-kick for Sam Collier’s men.
