Royal Wootton Bassett endured a tough afternoon in South Devon as Brixham claimed a dominant 59-12 victory at home.
The clash took place at the picturesque English Riviera.
With the weather clear following heavy rain, Brixham, clad in black, saw Bassett don their red away kit for the match.
Brixham wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring their first converted try within nine minutes as Bassett struggled with an early injury to full back John Jewell.
The hosts extended their lead, capitalizing on space and displaying quick ball movement to establish a 24-0 advantage by the half-hour mark.
Despite the scoreline, Bassett showed heart, with fly-half Sam Baker breaking free to score a try just before the interval, bringing the score to 24-7.
However, the second half saw Brixham respond clinically, scoring several tries while Bassett's pressure finally resulted in a score from hooker Mitchell Gough.
The match concluded with a flurry of late tries from Brixham, sealing their comprehensive victory.
Bassett will look to bounce back in their next fixture against fifth-placed Chew Valley RFC.
