Swindon Town are hoping to get a new signing done ahead of their trip to Oldham Athletic in League Two this weekend.
With less than a week remaining in the transfer window, Swindon are hopeful of adding two new players to their squad before the end of deadline day on September 1.
Town have been linked with moves for Matt Palmer of Notts County and Kain Adom of Burton Albion in recent days, although both deals were at a standstill yesterday.
Palmer is seemingly still wanted at Meadow Lane, and Town are figuring out whether or not Adom's recovery from a broken leg was at a point where they could take the risk on him.
Swindon are still weighing up a potential contract offer to keep Danny Butterworth after his injury issues, but that remains up in the air.
Ahead of travelling to Oldham on Friday, Ian Holloway is hoping that he will have a new face on his bus.
He said: "We might have one done by tomorrow."

Holloway was not being drawn into the player that he thought would be coming in, but it is known that he is looking for another forward and a midfielder, with the team still looking to replace the injured duo of Gavin Kilkenny and Fletcher Holman.
Whilst Swindon already have five players on loan, Holloway has said that he would not rule out bringing in another loanee and then having to balance fitting six or even seven into five places in his matchday squad each week.
The end of the window may be more complicated this year, as Swindon have a home match against Port Vale on deadline day, with that ending around 90 minutes before the window closed.
The hope internally at Swindon is that they will not need to be as busy as they have been on recent deadline days, as they look to wrap up deals for their desired signings ahead of Tuesday.
However, the situation can often change quickly during a transfer window, and that would leave them in a position where things may be going on behind the scenes as the team plays at the Nigel Eady County Ground.
Holloway was asked whether or not that was likely to influence his plans in the transfer market.
He added: "I don't think that it will happen, but I have already planned for if that does happen.
"If I get what I want by the weekend and then the other thing that I am after, then I will probably not need anything else.
"I believe that we are the right place for certain people, and then what I have to do is make sure that we have the right strength around them.
"I have to try to replace Gav Kilkenny. I wanted to add to Gav Kilkenny, but now I have to try to replace him, and I also have to try to replace Fletcher Holman.
"They were a massive part of my plan for where we are going and how good we are going to be.
