Blackpool have re-signed former Swindon Town striker Jerry Yates on a season-long loan from Luton Town.
The 29-year-old forward will return to Bloomfield Road this Saturday, when Blackpool host Peterborough United in League One, two years after leaving for Swansea City.
Yates joined Swindon on loan from Rotherham United for the 2019/20 season. He became part of Richie Wellens’ League Two title-winning team, forming a memorable strike partnership with Eoin Doyle.

He scored 13 goals during the truncated campaign, and stepped up when he was needed, scoring against Bradford City and in a 3-1 victory over Crewe Alexandra when Doyle was being recalled.
Rotherham recalled Yates towards the end of January, causing concern among Swindon supporters, but he came back eight days later and helped deliver the title on points per game.
Swindon’s interest continued ahead of the following campaign, with the club making bids after Rotherham indicated they were willing to sell, but Yates eventually moved to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.
He scored 23 goals in his first season at Blackpool and helped the club win promotion in May 2021. He then scored 22 goals over two Championship seasons and has since had stints with Swansea, Derby County, and Sheffield Wednesday.
He will now link up with fellow former Swindon player Finley Munroe, who is also on loan with Ian Evatt's side.
