WATERLOGGED pitches again played havoc with the Wiltshire League programme, just half the scheduled games in both divisions getting the go ahead, writes RAY BURROUGHS.

Marlborough Town gained a deserved point at Moredon Cheney, the sides finishing all square at 3-3.

Town striker Steve Dean hit a hat-trick, Dave Rendle, sub Declan King and new signing Ryan Caven sharing Moredon’s goals.

Premier Division leaders Corsham Town Reserves recovered from a lifeless first half to record a 3-0 win at Devizes Town Reserves.

The home side made it difficult for the leaders in the first 45 minutes with chances few and far between.

However after the interval the visitors looked a different side and Simon Gray scored twice and Justin Flowers the third.

Corsham boss Trevor Rawlings said: “We didn’t turn up in the first half but after a chat at half time we were much better in the second and the lads deserved their victory.”

Third-in-the-table Calne Town looked to be heading for three points, leading 2-1 with the game in injury time.

But visitors Chalke Valley had other ideas, Bobbie Bronsdon equalising with the last kick of the game.

Earlier the visitors had the better of the first half with Nick Jackson giving them an interval lead.

Within 10 minutes of the second period Calne were in front courtesy of good strikes from Ryan Welland and Steve Healey.

Wroughton’s miserable run continued with a 2-1 defeat at home by Shrewton who snatched the winner in the last five minutes.

In the only other game played in the section bottom club Wilton were beaten 4-0 at home by Swindon visitors Blyskawica.

In Division One, Marshfield kept among the leaders with a 5-2 win at Swindon Irons.
