MARLBOROUGH Town upset secnd-placed Calne with a 2-0 victory in a closely-fought Premier Division affair at Elcot Lane, writes RAY BURROUGHS.

In a fairly even first half it was Steve Dean who broke the deadlock with a good finish, latching on to a good cross to fire past the Calne keeper.

After the break Clinton Novace was brought down in the area after beating a couple of defenders and Liam Byfield converted the spot kick.

Ten minutes from time the home side were awarded a second penalty - but this time Byfield's effort struck the woodwork and was scrambled away.

League leaders Bradford Town continued to set the pace in the section, defeating home side Blyskawica 4-1 thanks to a action-packed last 10 minutes that saw them score three times.

Earlier, the Swindon side had gone a goal up with Mark Robinson equalising just before the break.

Just when the game looked to be heading for a draw Robinson struck a second and 17-year-old Jack Miluk added two more.

FC Chippenham Youth left it well into injury time before scoring the winner to snatch a 2-1 victory over visitors Purton Reserves.

A Nathan Pritchard free kick in the first half gave the home side the lead, with Ben Wickens scoring the late winner.

Vale Of Pewsey registered their first victory of the season with a 2-1 success over fellow strugglers Corsham Town Reserves.

Despite the visitors taking an early second-half lead, youngsters Cameron Hayes and Ryan Bragg struck for the Vale to give their side a welcome three points.

Devizes Town Reserves and Wroughton shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Wayne House netting an equaliser for the home side.

Shrewton made a successful trip to Swindon, beating home side Southbrook 2-1, for whom Sam Giles netted.

FC Sanford kept in touch with the leaders with a 7-1 victory over Ludgershall Sports and Moredon Cheney scored six against visitors Amesbury.

In Division One, Box Rovers and Old Town Wanderers made it nine wins from nine starts with comprehensive victories, Box scored 15 against Byron Wanderers and Old Town beat Ashton Keynes 7-2.

Marshfield also gained a welcome three points with a 3-0 win over Moredon Cheney Reserves.
