CENTRE forward Lee Gale will go straight into the Robins’ line-up for Saturday’s long league trip to Barwell.

Frome chief Darren Perrin snapped up the prolific 27-year-old front man from Gillingham Town, Gale also scoring 144 times for Shaftesbury in more than 200 appearances.

Twaine Plummer has left Town to join Toolstation League Radstock Town.

Frome booked their place in the quarter finals of the county cup on Tuesday, Luke Ballinger scoring twice including one from the penalty spot.

Shaun Benison and Ricky Hulbert scored the other goals.

Perrin said: “We deserved to win, although we did lack a bit of sharpness having not played last Saturday.

“Barwell is a long trip and they put five past Chippenham so it will be a tough game for us.’’
