TROWBRIDGE Town picked up their first point away from home – 1 1-1 draw against Purton, from whom they managed their only other point of the season to date.
Purton struck first and Bees boss Paul Blake said: “When we came in at half time one down I thought the boys might let it get to them, but they came out fighting second half and showed great resilience to get the point.”
Debutant Josh Farrant earned Blake’s side a draw, but the manager felt his side could have won it.
“We weren’t clinical enough in front of goal and missed a penalty. If we had taken one of those chances, we might have come away with all three points,” he added.
“Josh came on as a sub and he was understandably a bit nervous. He missed some chances early on, but once he’d settled in he played really well and got us the point.”
