ANGLING: THE trout fishing season on the Wessex Water fisheries ended on a high, with good catches taken from Clatworthy.
In the final week 287 fish were taken at Clatworthy, with most fish caught on sinking lines and small lures. Tripp End and the dam area were the most productive areas. With the water levels down somewhat a lot of rain is needed to fill the lake ready for next season.
At Hawkridge 103 fish were recorded, with fish being taken on Black Buzzers, Black Mini Lures and Gold Head Daddies. Terry White took a five fish bag for 10lb 14oz topped by a 3lb 12oz rainbow.
At Sutton Bingham 54 fish were taken. Anthony Pepper had the best bag of five fish for 13lb 6oz and Tony Targett took a fine 5lb 12oz rainbow.
The season has now finished on the Wessex Water fisheries.
