A BRACE apiece for Afolabi Akinyemi and veteran striker Jamie Cureton resulted in a comprehensive 4-0 defeat for Frome Town on their trip to Bishops Stortford in Southern League Premier Division.

Cureton is fast becoming the Robins' nemesis with a repeat of the two goals he had scored against Frome while playing for Farnborough earlier in the season.

After poor recent form, Frome started brightly but the hosts took the lead in the 16th minute as they broke from defence with a sweeping move that was finished off by Akinyemi.

Despite Frome playing some decent football, the final ball was always lacking and the hosts doubled their lead in the 70th minute when substitute Same Teale missed an interception and Cureton capitalised on the mistake to score with ease.

Cureton sealed the game nine minutes later with his second after the hosts had carved through the Frome defence.

With Akinyemi then shooting home for his own second a few minutes later, Frome fans were left to ponder how their season has gone into reverse so quickly with four successive league and cup defeats following an unbeaten five-match run.
