SUTTON Benger scored a try with the last play of the game to beat Westbury 18-15 to go top of Dorset & Wilts Two North as closest rivals Calne were well beaten at Swindon College Old Boys 2nd.

Westbury took the lead with a penalty from 40 metres, both sides exchanging further kicks to make it 6-3 to the visitors.

Benger scored the only try of the half with a rare excursion into the Westbury 22, scrum-half Christopher Bolter, breaking off the back of a ruck to score under the posts.

Captain Callum Harford added the conversion for a 10-6 half-time lead.

In the second half Westbury put real pressure on Benger, fly-half Aaron Vaughan enjoying an excellent kicking game and booting his side into a 15-13 lead with five minutes to go.

But as the visitors tried to clear their lines, the forwards forced a turnover and number eight Matt Rea shipped the ball to centre George Dent, who went over in the corner for the winning try.
