WHEN leaving the Shires with shopping I am often glad to sit down on seating backed by enlarged photography of Trowbridge, probably in the Great War period, depicting people and places.
I sometimes sit in front of a photograph depicting a caring middle aged man and a group of young women. They look well fed and happy and are all in the same type of work clothing. I have become intrigued; when was this? Great War? What work did they do? And of course there must be descendants in Trowbridge today.
