I DON’T know if the pictures that I saw of local councillors clearing up paths in last week’s edition of The Wiltshire Times was genuine or just a PR stunt.
What we have is local councillors blaming local government and vice versa about the lack of funding in keeping our streets clean and tidy.
A sensible approach in tackling this issue head-on is if local councillors and government come together, shared ideas and came up with a reasonably-priced settlement package that not only benefits both sides but also those that matters the most us, the general public.
Surely, there must be some talented, innovative and hard-working local representatives that are willing to stand up for their communities and do the right thing rather than get into a pointless game of verbal tennis through the media.
