A LARGE crowd of residents from Bowerhill packed out the village hall to have their say on the Melksham Neighbourhood Plan.

The public open event on Tuesday (November 8) at the village hall in Halifax Road, jointly hosted by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and the Bowerhill Residents Action Group (BRAG), welcomed residents from the village to submit their feedback on what they thought should be included in Melksham’s development.

Jo Ecclestone, parish officer for Melksham Without, said: “Both of the public open days were well attended, we had somewhere between 30 and 40 people at each one. We have received a lot of feedback on what people want to see addressed, this could be with the amount of homes or the public transport or even what facilities could be improved.”

Having already organised another open day at Shaw School on Saturday (November 5) the steering group welcomed everyone’s thoughts and hopes for what the Neighbourhood Plan will achieve.

“The feedback is being sorted and the results will be brought forward at the meeting of the steering group on November 30. There will also be further meetings in Berryfield after Christmas and in the West of Melksham in the New Year so everyone can have their say on the plans,” added Mrs Ecclestone.

Now the public open days have been drawn to a close, the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will be holding a meeting at the Melksham Without Parish Council offices in Melksham Market Place on November 30 from 6pm. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
