GENERAL ELECTION: CONSTITUENCIES
Your Say Your Times
The defrauding of a Trowbridge couple of £78,000 seems to me to reflect a major design fault in telephone equipment. It appears that a line is only closed when the caller hangs up, not when the recipient hangs up. If a caller deliberately keeps the line open, the next call you make can go back to them rather than the person you think you are calling. This is a major cause of fraud, when people think they are talking to the police, or their bank, or a utility company, but are actually still in contact with a criminal fraudster. − Paul Williams, TrowbridgeWhy can’t BT help? »
I have just returned from a family holiday in Morocco, where we travelled on roads, mule tracks and desert camel trails. None of these were in anything like as poor a state as the road immediately outside our house just beyond the Dog and Fox in Ashley, Bradford on Avon. I have an email trail dating back to September 2013 full of repeated promises from Wiltshire Council to repair the increasingly massive and numerous potholes “next week”. − Caroline Heffer, Bradford on AvonLiving in third world »
