Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is helping to keep pupils at a school near one of its sites safe on their walks to and from school.
The firm has donated 200 high-visibility, reflective wristbands to The Mead Community Primary School, Hilperton, to be worn on dark, winter days.
Assistant head Harriet Phillips said: “We encourage our pupils to walk to and from school. It’s a great way to keep healthy and active and also helps to reduces road congestion.
“However, with the winter nights drawing in, many children are now finding themselves walking to and from school in the dark.”
Regional sales and marketing director at the company’s base in Bristol, Richard Goad, said: “We’re committed to supporting the local communities in which we build.”
It has a new development at Brook Meadow.
