A GROUP of year eight pupils from Trowbridge’s Clarendon School have won an Institute of Engineering and Technology competition.
The six beat teams from schools from across the region at Calne’s John Bentley School on November 20, as part of the Faraday Challenge event.
They devised a communications idea, then created a system that let people send and receive coded messages from two remote locations.
Assistant headteacher David Cooper said: “This is a fantastic example of what can be achieved by highly motivated students who are placed in stimulating and challenging situations.
“We are striving for deep academic, practical and independent learning all of the time at Clarendon and this achievement is a great example of success.
“We are very proud of the team who represented the school. They are all potential scientists and engineers of the future.”
