The new Dorothy House store

First published in News by

A disused former Trowbridge nightclub is being put to good use by Dorothy House and sure to please those looking to bag a bargain.

The charity opened a new clearance store, in Wicker Hill, today in the unit of what was formerly The Hub, which has been closed for several years.

The store is the Winsley charity’s first ever clearance store and sells clothing, toys and games.

James McDonald, the charity’s head of retail and voluntary services, said: “This is a first for us and we are very excited to be in Trowbridge and would like to thank everyone for their support today.

“The centre will complement our new outreach centre which opened in Trowbridge last year.”

The outreach centre, based at the Bryer Ash Business Park, offers group sessions, workshops and treatments for those with terminal illnesses, as well as support for their families.

I for one see no problem with this. It gets rid of an empty premises, obviously provides people with what is needed and funds a charity who provide an amazing service.
I think a bit of respect is due for this charity and many others like it.
