POLICE are asking for the public's help after a spate of burglaries at outbuildings, stables and sheds in Warminster and Westbury.

Four of the burglaries took place in Heytesbury, near Warminster, three on the evening of May 23 and the fourth between May 20 and 24.

A petrol generator, a strimmer and horse rugs were stolen from a stable off the High Street, power tools were taken from the shed of a house in Park Lane and a chainsaw was taken from a stable in Greenlands.

Several outbuildings off oark Street in Heytesbury were also broken into, with an electric Makita Shredder, Stiga garden strimmer and an Austin J40 Pedal Red Car all reported missing.

Equipment used for mucking out was stolen from stables in Huntenhull Lane, Chapmanslade, overnight on May 23, after the padlock to the stables was snapped off.

Inspector Alan Webb said: “I would ask that if anyone sees any unusual vehicles about asking for business or work then they take details of them and pass them to the police.

“Also, anyone offered secondhand garden equipment or garage workshop equipment for sale that matches any of the items mentioned should contact the police on 101."
