Bratton Silver Band were delighted to win third prize at the South West Brass Band Association Own Choice contest at the Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare.
The band, led by Simon Carr, played Stephen Bulla’s Chorale and Toccata.
The contest marked the last performance for the band’s principal cornet player and long-term secretary, Lisa Hill. The band are now looking for a new principal cornet player, and also a principal euphonium player. Indeed, players of all abilities are welcome to come. Practices take place at the Bratton Church Institute every Monday and Friday, 8-10pm. Instruments can be loaned if necessary.
On June 7, the band join Con Brio choir at Westbury Methodist Church in raising money for Dorothy House.
