A TATTOO shop has moved to a new home and the manager is hoping longer hours will mean more business.

Tattoo World in Trowbridge has moved from one side of Church Street to the other but business has been quiet and there are plans to open longer.

Manager Simon Moss said: "I think we were more visible where we were and people aren't sure where we are now.

"But we have more room here and it is bigger so we can give people more privacy."

The shop has two waiting rooms and two separate rooms for tattooing and piercing.

Mr Moss is hoping to extend the opening hours from 11am-6pm to 9am to about 8pm.

The space left empty by the move is to be taken by the Alms House, in Silver Street, which will be taking over the former tattoo parlour along with the fireworks shop next door.

Church Street in Trowbridge is undergoing several changes and commercial property agent Dreweatt Neate has had a hand in letting, selling and auctioning four of the businesses.

The firm's Brian Fitchett, said: "Streets can remain unchanged for years, then suddenly one business moves and it triggers a flurry of activity.

"The property at number one Church Street, which became empty when Simon Moss moved his business to number 50 , is already sold.

Number two Church Street, the property occupied by Rose's bakery, was due to go under the hammer at Dreweatt Neate's land and property auction at Cumberwell Park on Wednesday, although the bakery business is unaffected.

In addition, extenal work on the former nightclub and showroom at 46/47 Church Street is nearing completion but there is still work to be done inside," said Mr Fitchett.

The building, opposite Duke Street, has planning permission for a shop and flats above with some tenant interest already being shown.
