A Holt woman held a 24-hour bakeathon during Wednesday, to make cakes for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events taking place tomorrow.
Beth Al-Rikabi, 30, of The Street, has supported Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual fundraising event by producing hundreds of cakes, which she has donated to the coffee mornings.
She also aims to raise £2,000 for the charity through an endurance challenge, in which she was given a helping hand by her sister Mari Webster and friends Holly Rush and Marilyn Grosvenor.
Mrs Al-Rikabi, who runs Beth’s Bakes, said: “It is a great cause and deserves our support, so I’m doing what I can to help. I’ve made some classic cakes, cupcakes and a giant macaroon.
“I really wanted to get involved, as the Macmillan really supported Mari’s mother-in-law, Sheila, when she was treated for terminal cancer about five years ago.”
