An intoxicated woman seen driving her mobility scooter at Emery Gate, Chippenham, while swigging from a wine bottle was cautioned by police for being drunk in charge of a carriage. 

The 53-year-old woman from Charter Road was caught on CCTV driving into the underground car park and drinking from the bottle.

Officers went to Emery Gate at 10.30am last Thursday and said she was slurring her words and smelled of alcohol. She was cautioned under Section 12 of the Licensing Act 1872.
