Fitzmaurice Primary School in Bradford on Avon is appealing for sponsors to raise money towards its solar panel scheme.

The school is part of the 10:10 Solar Schools project and needs to raise £16,000 for 40 panels.

Donations from firms and individuals have already raised £2,330, enough for six panels.

Contributions of at least £400 will get the donor’s name on a plaque in the school’s reception.

Headteacher Tracey Dunn said: “This is a really practical way of showing how the school is committed to reducing its carbon footprint.”
