In the wake of another successful carnival last year the Trowbridge Carnival Committee has given a donation to Larkrise School.

The school, for children with severe learning difficulties, received £250 from the committee to help after a suspected arson attack last year.

The money will go towards ICT equipment for the pupils.

Maryrose Mantle, carnival committee chairman, said: “We have made the donation because it is a local school.

"The 2013 carnival was very well received, with around 14,000 people on the streets.

"We now have some money so we want to give back to the community.”

Headteacher Phil Cook said: “It is nice they have thought of us.”
