Melksham-based manufacturer Knorr-Bremse is so confident for the future it is taking on 20 people, creating new hi-tech jobs in the town.
The firm exports braking systems across the UK and abroad and currently employs around 360 people at Bowerhill.
It is recruiting accountants, project managers and engineers.
Head of marketing Nick Brailey said: “It’s really because of the volume of work we have here. It’s a similar type of work we are doing, but we have just got so much of it, we need more people.
“The jobs are spread across the board, to complete existing teams. If we can we would look to recruit locally, but the jobs are open to people with the right skills we need.
“We have done very well through the tough times. We have been aware of the change in the economy recently, and we see an improvement in the business.
“The rail industry is very dynamic and very busy, both in the UK and abroad. There is a lot of growth, and we see that continuing. We export products made here overseas, especially to China, which is a big market to us.
“All these jobs are based in Melksham, but we are recruiting elsewhere as well.
“We’ve also got a production machining facility in Corsham. It’s a very highly-skilled workforce, making high-precision parts.”
