A FIRE which ravaged beauty therapist Becky Kershaw’s Corsham salon has been a blessing in disguise, prompting her to move to larger premises and hire new staff.

She was forced to leave The Hair Company on the High Street after a fire broke out last December, but her business, Body and Soul Health and Beauty, is now back up and running and doing better than ever at new premises on Pickwick Road.

The salon was officially opened last month at the former Indulgence salon with a champagne reception and free treatments.

“It’s much bigger now; we have three rooms upstairs, so we can do all your beauty treatments. We also do Botox and holistic therapies, so everything all under one roof.

“It’s in a much better place for us now, so more people see us as they walk past.”

The new salon has also allowed Mrs Kershaw to hire three new members of staff, including her first beauty apprentice.

She said: “There were four of us who came from The Hair Company, but we were able to take on an apprentice and an extra receptionist, which has been great, especially as you hardly ever get apprenticeships in beauty now.

“She’s doing really well, and it’s really nice to give someone young a chance in the industry.”

A new website for the salon will soon be going live.
