ONE of the most common reasons for hitting poor shots is incorrect alignment.
The main reason for this is not taking enough care in lining up the club to the target before lining up your body.
The key thing is to first establish a target (the flag, edge of a bunker or small point on the fairway) then imagine a line from your ball to that target.
Next pick a target a few feet away from the ball along that line it could be an old divot or piece of grass.
Now as you move into the ball to play the shot you should sit the club behind the ball with the leading edge pointing 90 degrees to you intermediate target.
Next you should move your feet into position parallel to your target line.
Most players that aim incorrectly tend to aim their feet first then aim the club.
Next time you play aim the club face first before putting your feet in position.
